Hi Folks, we held our first Monday meeting on 14th September at the Rose and Crown and we had 9 members playing and singing. This was encouraging because a few members were still on holiday or had previous engagements, and so the change of night does not seem to have affected us as greatly as we feared it might.
The evening went with a swing and the strumming and singing were most enjoyable. Hopefully you are all able to do a little bit of practice at home between meetings so that our standard continues on an upwards curve! We were also able to welcome a new member to our club – welcome David.
We were happy that Isobel, the Rose and Crown’s tenant, was able to join us and sit in for a song or two – as was her daughter. Isobel is keen that we should pop into the main bar sometime and deliver a number or two. I suspect that that will happen in the not too distant future!
During the next few meetings we will start introducing some Christmas songs to our repertoire, with a view to doing a short presentation to the Rose and Crown during the yuletide season to thank them for their hospitality. I’m sure that some of you might personally find them useful over the Christmas festivities in a family situation!
That’s all for now, we look forward to meeting again on the 28th…….
