Hi Wupsters! Another excellent meeting on 24th October with approx 35 members present, and the additional work that people had put in on the new book 5 songs with the aid of Graham’s tuition videos really shone through. Well done!St Peter and St James Hospice performance
At the last count we had 12 names of members who have indicated that they will be coming along, and there is still space for others who may wish to take part. It would be helpful if anyone else who wishes to attend could let me know by replying to this email, so that we can monitor the numbers for parking and performing space etc. It would also be helpful if any players who are able to could double up in cars where possible to alleviate the parking.
We are assured of a good welcome there and I am sure it will be a happy and rewarding experience to all concerned. There is an information sheet attachment to this email which also sets out the playlist.
Next WUPS! Meeting Monday 14th November (2nd Monday of the Month)
After the success of the four songs from Book 5 that we performed at the last meeting : Five Foot Two (No6) , Sh-Boom (No 20), When I’m Dead and Gone (No 22) and Till There Was you (No 21) we have decided to repeat these again to even better acquainted with them! Additionally we will be doing (from the same book) Homeward Bound (No 8)for which Graham has done a tuition video and I’ll Tell Me Ma (No12) for which he has done a play-along. We also hope to play Blowing in the Wind (No1) Does Your Chewing Gum etc (No4) English Country Garden (no 5) Ginny Come Lately (No7) and House of the Rising Sun (No9).
We will also be playing some old favourites, and Mark Granger has offered to record maybe 5 of the songs we are more familiar with, and we can then supply a link to these recordings to members who wish to have a copy of them.
That’s all for now, keep strumming!
Ron
