TUESDAY 12th MAY MEETUP & NEXT MEET 26TH MAY

Our third jam took place at the Rose and Crown, Fletching on 12th May. We had 8 participants, and this time everyone was playing and singing. We were happy to welcome Gavin to the group – this time he brought his uke after observing the proceedings last time.

It was decided during the meeting that at the next meetup on 26th May we would use the same song list as we had used this time, so that we can become more proficient at the songs we have already been using before we move on to the next volume of songs.

It was also agreed that we should start a list of 8 songs into which we would put extra practice, to create a programme that we could use if we were ever asked to perform anywhere!  So far the ‘performance’ list as chosen by the members stands at :-

Sloop John B    (from our original songbook)

Putting on the Style   (original songbook)

Urban Spaceman  (New songbook Vol 1 / Page 4)

Eight Days  a Week   (New songbook Vol 6 /Page 3)

It might be helpful if members practiced them as often as possible!  Please feel free to suggest further additions to this list, to be put forward for consideration by the other members for agreement to be included.

Finally, Richard has kindly translated Hey Jude (Vol 2 / Page 3) and She Loves You (Vol 6 / Page 12) into a key that it might be easier to sing to, so I will bring copies to the next meet.

See you there!

P.S. I see from my notes that someone requested we put Goodnight Irene (Vol 1 / Page 12) on our playlist for the next meeting, so please download that track if you have not already done so. Thanks.
